What nerve fibers are found in the plexus muscularis?

- The plexus muscularis contains fibers from the enteric nervous system (the intestine's own nervous system), as well as sympathetic and parasympathetic axons. You can see a nerve fiber in this image. Some nuclei are seen within the fiber. These nuclei belong to the cells that protect the axons of the nerve cells.
