The tunica muscularis of duodenum (400X)

This image shows some details from the lining of the duodenum to the peritonneal cavity. The outermost nuclei are the nuclei of the simple squamous epithelium lining the peritonneal cavity. This layer is called the tunica serosa. The tunica serosa also contains some fibroblasts (nuclei seen here).
