What's the difference between the lamina mucosae in the small intestine and the lamina mucosae of the large intestine?

  • there are no villi in the lamina mucosae of the colon, only crypts.
  • lamina epitelialis (epithelial lamina / mucosa) in the colon contains plenty of goblet cells. There are no Paneth cells.
