Hard palate (40X)

This is a section of the hard palate (lat: palatum durum). The palate is covered by keratinized epithelium. Below the lamina propria, you'll see quite a few mucous acini which indicates that this section is taken from the posterior part of the hard palate (lat: palatum durum). Above the mucous acini, you can see the bone supporting the soft tissue.
