This image shows details of the crista ampullaris covered by receptor cells and the cupola. Sustentacular cells are seen below the receptor cells. These cells are a type of cells primarily associated with structural support. Nerve cells and nuclei belonging to the glia cells that enclose the nerve cells are seen within the crista inferior to the sustentacular cells.
