Bud stage of tooth development in the mandible (40X)

This section is taken from a human fetus and is displaying a cross section of parts of the developing mandible and its surrounding tissues.

The mandibular bone is under development and a tooth bud is seen among the spicules of bone. You will also see a cross section of Meckle's cartilage and the inferior alveolar nerve. Glandular parenchyma is seen inferiorly and medially to Meckle's cartilage.
