Vein of the umbilical cord (100X)

When you look at the vein at a higher magnification like in this image, it is possible to see that it consists of three different layers. The epithelium lines the lumen of the vein. The lamina propria is situated next to the epithelum surrounded by a thick muscular layer (tunica muscularis).
