This section is from a palatine tonsil. The surface of the tonsil is covered by stratified squamous epithelium. Below the epithelium, within the lamina propria, there are lymphatic follicles lining deep tonsillar crypts of which quite a few of these contain germinal centers. Fibrous tissue containing vascular beds are situated in between the nodules.
